Miso provides a deep, umami-rich taste to something it touches, and Los Angeles-based Cafe Demitasse, which has been working in L.A.’s Little Tokyo neighborhood since 2011, makes nice use of it of their autumn drink. Whereas the caramel and banana on this beverage carry an opulent, nearly childlike sweetness, the miso balances every thing out with its savory, barely salty taste. The café lately launched a sequence of inventive vacation drinks, together with the Caramel Apple infused with almond syrup, apple syrup, and caramel sauce, and our favourite, the Pear Tree Crunch: Vietnamese espresso with oat milk, pear syrup, uncooked sugar, and cinnamon. The tartness of pear alongside different candy and warming components makes for a drink that’s each refreshing and comforting, akin to a chew of a freshly baked pear tart.

Along with serving up distinctive vacation drinks, the store can be well-known for being Kansas Metropolis’s first ever Vietnamese espresso store, even inspiring a second Vietnamese café, Origin Espresso, to open up. “There was no Vietnamese espresso in Kansas Metropolis after I received there. To introduce Vietnamese espresso within the Midwest was exceptional,” shares the store’s founder, Jackie Nguyen. “I imagine Café Cà Phê has opened up range within the espresso scene in Ok.C.”
